As spring arrives, it's time to look ahead to April. With the season of renewal, new policies and updates are also on the horizon for April 2026 in Paris and Île-de-France. So, what changes are taking place this month? Here are the announcements that might affect your daily life:

Changes Coming to Social Assistance Programs

The 2026 finance law includes several increases in social benefits provided by the Caf, effective from April 1, 2026. The following aids will be raised by 0.9% to keep pace with inflation:

  • The RSA (Active Solidarity Income) increases to €653.33 per month,
  • The AAH (Disabled Adults Allowance) rises to €1,042.62 per month,
  • The APL (Personalized Housing Assistance), which varies based on household circumstances,
  • The family allowances, with amounts adjusted according to household situations.

Increase in the Activity Bonus

The activity bonus, a financial boost for workers with modest wages, is also being increased. On average, recipients will see an extra 50 euros per month, benefiting nearly three million people. The reform aims to expand the eligibility criteria as well, making it possible for more individuals to access this assistance.

An Important Milestone on Parcoursup

High school students and university applicants must reach a key milestone on Parcoursup: April 1, 2026, is their final deadline to complete their applications and confirm each of their study and training choices. It’s important to note that apprenticeship programs can still be validated after this date.

Income Tax Return

The tax declaration campaign opens on April 9, and taxpayers can review and complete their online income tax return for the 2025 tax year.

Energy voucher

From April 1, eligible households will start receiving their energy voucher, a lifeline to help cover electricity and gas bills.

End of the Winter Moratorium

Starting in November 2025, the winter break on evictions will end on April 1, 2026. This means that tenants can once again face eviction from their primary residence in the event of disputes with their landlord.
