The union denounces the principle of a queue cutter that the store will put in place for its vaccinated employees. With several thousand employees, Galeries Lafayette wants to facilitate access to the store through a special entrance, not accessible to employees with a negativePCR test.

"We don't have figures on the number of vaccinated people, but around us, many are not, so the fear is rising. What's going to happen to those who don't have a full vaccination regimen? I think that the employer will use this as an excuse to lay off workers, which is why we are calling for a strike," explained Serge Halimi, of the Sud union, to Le Parisien. Vincent Corner, CGT delegate of the shopping center adds that "the management does not give us any gifts when we clock in late, it is withheld from our wages. What will happen if we are stuck in the queue?

Galeries Lafayette reassure their customers that this is an isolated movement, by a union that does not have a majority in the company. "There isno panic on board for Monday, we are ready and organized. We will do everything to make sure that things go as smoothly and serenely as possible for our employees," says the shopping center's communications director.
