On July 4, 2026, how many people will take to the streets of the capital protesting sexist and sexual violence against women and children? It’s still too early to say, but the Foundation for Women is calling for gatherings this Saturday across France, including in Paris where a large citizen march is planned.
With the Feminist and Child-centered Coalition for a Comprehensive Law Against Sexual Violence, the Fondation des Femmes announces in a communiqué that it will march "in memory of Lyhanna", but also "in support of all victims, children as well as adults, those who survived and in tribute to those who are no longer with us", as well as "a refusal of impunity that protects aggressors".
Through this major citizen-led march, the Foundation for Women aims to spotlight the famed comprehensive framework law on sexual violence, while also focusing on prevention and education, support for victims, and the recognition of their physical and mental health.
As protests against gender-based and sexual violence have surged in recent weeks across France, notably on Place Vendôme in Paris but also outside courts and prefectures, the Fondation des Femmes is calling for a major citizen march on July 4, 2026, in Paris. The demonstration will set off this Saturday at 3 p.m. from place de la Bastille, and will head to place de la Nation.
On the Foundation for Women’s social media channels, officials confirm that a number of public figures will be in attendance, including Lio, Nicole Ferroni, Mélanie Page, and Bruno Solo.
