Discover the cities of Île-de-France where life is the most pleasant, according to the ranking made by the association Villes et villages où il fait bon vivre and revealed by the Journal du Dimanche.
Le Journal du Dimanche has unveiled its list of the best places to live in towns of over 2,000 inhabitants, compiled by the association Villes et villages où il fait bon vivre. Among the top 50 are several towns in the Paris region, the first of which, Versailles in the Yvelines, is ranked 24th. Although, once again this year, the Hauts-de-Seine département still contains the most livable towns in the whole of the Île-de-France region.
In France, Biarritz (Pyrénées-Atlantiques) has once again been named the best place to live in2025, ahead of Angers, Annecy and Bayonne.
This ranking is based on 198 criteria drawn up by INSEE and various government bodies, divided into the following nine categories: quality of life, safety, health, commerce, transport, education, sports and leisure, solidarity and real estate attractiveness.
Paris Region cities in the top 50 best places to live in 2025 :
- Versailles - 24th (Yvelines)
- Boulogne-Billancourt - 28th (Hauts-de-Seine)
- Courbevoie - 30th (Hauts-de-Seine)
- Levallois-Perret - 33rd (Hauts-de-Seine)
- Asnières-sur-Seine - 40th (Hauts-de-Seine)
- Colombes - 42nd (Hauts-de-Seine)
- Nogent-sur-Marne - 43rd (Val-de-Marne)
- Puteaux - 49th (Hauts-de-Seine)
While Hauts-de-Seine still leads the way with 15 cities in the top 100, the departments of Seine-Saint-Denis and Seine-et-Marne have no cities in the top 200, with the exception of Montreuil ranked 190th. Paris is in 101st position, down 10 places in 2 years.
