According to the American magazine Newsweek, several AP-HP hospitals are still well placed in the rankings of the world's best hospitals, particularly in neurology, oncology and cardiology.
Despite numerous problems in Frenchhospitals, not least budget restrictions, several Parisian health establishments are ranked among the best in the world. According to the American magazine Newsweek, Assistance Publique - Hôpitaux de Paris, the university hospital of the Île-de-France region, ranks some of its centers among the best in the world, in many specialties. Pitié Salpêtrière is particularly well placed, notably in neurology, where it ranks 6th worldwide, and 10th for cardiac surgery.
The hospital also distinguished itself by being in the top 20 in 9 of the 12 specialties surveyed. A very positive ranking for this highly reputed Parisian healthcare establishment. In pediatrics, Necker-Enfants malades ranks 11th out of 200 hospitals worldwide. Finally, in oncology, theInstitut Curie ranks 21st, thanks to its active cancer research, and Gustave-Roussy, in Villejuif, ranks 4th!
