Val-d'Oise: where can you find the best butter croissant in the department?

It's a pastry so often found on the breakfast table. Thanks to its flaky pastry, the croissant has conquered the taste buds of many a gourmet. Although there are many legends surrounding its creation, the term " croissant " first appeared in a dictionary in 1863! Since then, the croissant has continued to delight the palate, to the point of being France's favorite Viennese pastry.

Every year, competitions are organized around this indestructible pastry. After discovering the best butter croissants in Paris, Yvelines and Essonne, let's take a look at the best butter croissant 2023 in Val-d'Oise!

The competition, in which a number of the département's bakers took part, has delivered its results. So, who wins this year's first prize for the best butter croissant in Val-d'Oise? The answer was given to us in early September by the Chambre de Métiers et de l'Artisanat du 95.

Congratulations to Pierre Poupard of boulangerie du Moulin in Nesles-la-Vallée, who won first prize for the department's best butter croissant 2023 in the " employers" category. Kanako Schenus, who also works at the boulangerie du Moulin in Nesles-la-Vallée, took first place in the " employees " category. Last but not least, his apprentice Nolann Gue was named overall winner in his category.
