November 11th ceremony in Paris: protective perimeter and traffic restrictions

Commemorations on November 11, 2023 at the Arc de Triomphe with a visit from the French Patrol
This Saturday, November 11, 2023, we commemorate the Armistice of 1918. In the morning, we head for the Arc de Triomphe for the official ceremony attended by French President Emmanuel Macron. The Préfecture de Police de Paris has therefore issued a decree instituting a protective perimeter and a number of other measures, regulating access and the movement of people and vehicles around the famousArc de Triomphe monument. The measures will come into force this Saturday at 3pm.

" On Saturday, November 11, 2023, from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm, a protection perimeter will be set up, within which access and movement of people and vehicles will be regulated, under the conditions set out in the present order ", explains the Prefecture.

In this decree, the Préfecture de Police provides further details. " The protection perimeter is thus delimited by the following roads, which are included in it, unless otherwise stated ":

• rue de Tilsitt ;
• avenue de Friedland not included, in the section between rue de Tilsitt and rue Lord Byron;
• rue Lord Byron not included, in the section between avenue de Friedland and rue Balzac;
• rue Balzac, between rue Lord Byron and avenue des Champs-Élysées;
• avenue des Champs-Élysées, between rue Balzac and rue Galilée ;
• rue Galilée, between avenue des Champs-Élysées and rue Vernet;
• rue Vernet not included;
• rue de Presbourg.

In addition, access points to the perimeter will be equipped with pre-screening and screening devices for pedestrians. They will be located :

• At the angel of avenue Kléber and rue de Presbourg ;
• At the angel of rue de Presbourg and avenue d'Iéna ;
• To the angel of avenue Marceau and rue de Presbourg;
• To the angel on rue Galilée and rue Vernet;
• À l'ange de l'avenue des Champs-Élysées et de la rue Galilée ;
• À l'angle de l'avenue des Champs-Élysées et de la rue Balzac ;
• At the corner of rue Balzac and rue Lord Byron;
• À l'ange de l'avenue de Friedland et de la rue de Tilsitt;
• At the corner of avenue Hoche and rue de Tilsitt;
• À l'ange de l'avenue de Wagram et de la rue de Tilsitt.

In addition, " all gatherings of a protest nature " will be prohibited within this protected perimeter. To gain access to this perimeter, people will have to pass through screening and pre-screening points, where they will be required to undergo checks, baggage inspection and security palpations.

In addition, people who, " for professional, residential or family reasons ", need to access and circulate within this protection perimeter, are invited to report to the police authority on site, so that they can "undergo an appropriate screening measure ".
