Several major changes are in store for public transport in Paris and the Ile-de-France region, with the forthcoming inauguration of three much-anticipated line extensions on both the metro and RER. We tell you all about it!

Since January 1, 2024, the price of the Navigo Pass has once again risen by €2.30 to €86.40 per month. While this news is far from unanimous among users, Île-de-France Mobilités points out the necessity of this increase, which is intended not only to maintain transport operations, but also to modernize and strengthen the network. " This (controlled) increase in Navigo pass fares will help finance the operation of a public transport network in the Paris region that is continuing to develop ", Île-de-France Mobilités explained in a press release published on December 6, 2023, adding that several metro and RER line extensions would be inaugurated in 2024.

After the extension of tramway T3b in early April, passengers will be able to discover in June the long-awaited extension of line 14, north to Saint-Denis Pleyel, and south to Orly Airport. A total of 8 new stations will be built between now and the Paris Olympics. In particular, it will be possible to reach the Aéroport d'Orly station from Olympiades in 16 minutes!
