After having asked Parisians to vote on whether or not to maintain self-service electric scooters in the capital on April 2, 2023 (a vote which ended with the discontinuation of this rental system, deemed too dangerous), they are called upon to vote again on Sunday March 23.
The subject of this new vote is garden streets, with the aim ofaccelerating the greening policy in Paris. Indeed, the garden-street concept aims to create 100 garden-streets over the next few years, in order to develop and preserve biodiversity, reduce heat islands and thus improve residents' quality of life, according to the City of Paris website.
This time - and this is a major first for this new vote - young people aged 16 to 18 will also be able to vote, as the City of Paris believes that "the participation of young people in the life of the city is essential to our democratic vitality". So, if you were born between March 23, 2007 and March 22, 2009, live in Paris and are a French citizen (or citizen of any other member state of the European Union), the date is set for next Sunday, March 23, in every arrondissement of the capital!
