The last weekend of the 2025 All Saints' Day holidays is expected to be busy on the roadsof Île-de-France, particularly on Friday, October 31. Bison Futé, the French traffic forecaster, has classified the entire metropolitan area as having difficult traffic conditions, represented by the color yellow. The combination of this last weekend of school holidays and All Saints' Day on Saturday is expected to result in heavy traffic in both directions. This weekend will also mark the start of school holidays in Luxembourg and the end of school holidays in Belgium, which explains the influx of vehicles on our roads.
In terms of departures, the main congestion is expected towards the northeast borders, particularly on the A1, A2, and A31 highways, as well as towards the Mediterranean coast on the A7, A8, A50, and A51 highways. These routes are expected to be congested from early afternoon until early evening. To avoid the worst of the traffic, we advise you to leave the Île-de-France region before 2 p.m. or after 9 p.m.
The situation will be just as tricky for those returning home. The A1, A2, and A25 highways leading from the northeastern borders will be particularly busy. The Atlantic coast (RN165 and A63) and Mediterranean coast (A7, A9, and A75) will also experience heavy traffic, which will last from late morning until early evening.
Good news for those hitting the road on Saturday: Bison Futé is anticipating significant progress with smooth traffic across the country in the departure direction. The map should be largely green. However, the Île-de-France region will continue to experience heavy traffic in the return direction, particularly onthe A10 motorway. The large number of people traveling for All Saints' Day is expected to prolong the difficulties from mid-afternoon until early evening. If you are returning from your weekend away, avoid the 3pm-8pm time slot for a more peaceful journey.
On the last day of the weekend, the situation is expected to remain similar to the previous day. The map of France will be mostly green, although some difficulties with return traffic will persist in the Paris region. This time, the A13 highway is likely to be congested from early afternoon until early evening. Motorists coming from Normandy will need to be patient, especially between Mantes-la-Jolie and the ring road.
For a stress-free return from vacation, we recommend planning your journeys in advance. On Friday, try to leave very early or late to avoid rush hour. Check the Bison Futé website or mobile app regularly to monitor traffic conditions in real time. Don't forget to listen to 107.7 FM on the highways or France Bleu stations on national roads to stay informed about traffic conditions.
If you have the option of adjusting your return schedule, Sunday morning is a better time than late afternoon on the weekend. Drivers should also remain vigilant, particularly at junctions between highways and national roads, at toll booths, and on the outskirts of urban areas.
In short, this last weekend of the holidays requires a minimum of organization to avoid wasting hours in traffic jams. With a little foresight and the right time slots, you should be able to get home safely.
