On Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at noon, a massive outage paralyzed many websites, and ChatGPT was no exception. Since 1 p.m., users of OpenAI's famous chatbot have been surprised by an unexpected message: "Unblock challenges.cloudflare.com to continue." Don't panic... you're not alone!

But the outage doesn't just affect AI. X, Facebook, Canva, Spotify, Doctissimo...and even Down Detector have been affected by this bug, causing loading errors, slowdowns, and repeated error messages. The cause? An outage at Cloudflare, the third-party service that acts as an intermediary between websites and their users to secure and speed up traffic. When Cloudflare encounters a problem, all the websites that depend on it may display error messages and become temporarily unavailable.
Fortunately, the AI is not completely down and appears to be accessible on mobile devices. Cloudflare and OpenAI are currently working to restore service, but it will take a little patience before everything returns to normal.
This massive outage serves as a reminder of how interconnected the internet is... and how much we depend on services like Cloudflare to browse without a hitch!
