The RERC line is experiencing service disruptions this Wednesday, November 26, in Val-de-Marne and Essonne following a serious accident involving a person. The SNCF announced on its Twitter account that train service has been completely suspended between the Pont-de-Rungis and Massy-Palaiseau stations, disrupting the travel plans of many users this mid-morning.
The three stations located on this section are currently not served by trains. These are Rungis – La Fraternelle, Chemin d'Antony, and Massy-Verrières. Passengers who usually use these stations should find alternative travel solutions. The railway company estimates that service could resume around 11:30 a.m., but cannot guarantee this time, which remains subject to rescue operations and the findings of the authorities.Delays are to be expected even after service resumes, until traffic returns to normal.
Firefighters and police are currently at the scene of the accident. These emergency services are carrying out the necessary operations in this type of serious situation. The SNCF states that "according to the initial information I have, trains will only be allowed to run on track 1," which suggests a gradual resumption of traffic with residual disruptions.
The SNCF is providing real-time updates on the situation via its Twitter account and its SNCF Connect mobile app. Passengers can also visit the official Transilien website to find out about possible alternative routes and check the real-time traffic status of the RER C. A toll-free number has been set up for anyone who witnessed the incident and feels they need psychological support: 0800 120 821.
Unfortunately, this type of incident has a significant impact on rail traffic in the Île-de-France region, particularly on this strategic line, which connects the north and south of the region by crossing Paris. RER C users are advised to check before traveling and to allow for longer journey times until services return to normal.
