The last few hours have been agonizing for many residentsof Ermont. On Monday, October 20, 2025, a tornado swept through the Val-d'Oise commune, killing at least one person and seriously injuring four others. According to local authorities, the passage of this meteorological phenomenon required the intervention of 80 firefighters, 50 police officers, and 20 members of the Samu emergency medical service in the areas of Ermont, Eaubonne, Andilly, Montmorency, and Franconville. Significant material damage was also reported.
On the morning of Tuesday, October 21, 2025, Transilien SNCF reported that traffic was interrupted on the RER C line between Pontoise and Ermont-Eaubonne due to trees falling on power lines in the Franconville area. As a result, the stations of Pontoise, Saint-Ouen-l'Aumône, Saint-Ouen-l'Aumône Liesse, Pierrelaye, Montigny - Beauchamp, Franconville - Le Plessis-Bouchard, and Cernay are currently not served by the RER C. According to Transilien SNCF, train service between these two stations in Val-d'Oise will be suspended until approximately 6:00 p.m.
In addition, traffic is also "disrupted" between Ermont-Eaubonne and Massy-Palaiseau in both directions. RER C users are therefore advised to contact staff for further information and to use alternative routes, such as Transilien lines H and J at Pontoise and Ermont-Eaubonne stations.
It should be noted that RER line C is very popular with users. RER C serves the stations of Épinay-sur-Seine, Saint-Ouen, Champ-de-Mars, Invalides, Musée d'Orsay, Paris Austerlitz, Bibliothèque François Mitterrand, and Pont de Rungis (Orly Airport).
