Due to the farmers' protest in Paris on Thursday, January 8, 2026, the police prefecture has decided to shut down the Charles-de-Gaulle-Etoile station. As a result, metro and RER trains on the affected lines will bypass this station and not stop there today.

This Thursday, January 8, 2026, in Paris, the day is crowned by a farmers’ protest in the heart of the city, organized in response to a call from the Rural Coordination (CR). On Place de l’Étoile, at the top of Champs-Elysées, tractors made their way to the foot of the Arc de Triomphe. The demonstration prompted the police to close the nearby metro station for security reasons.

Therefore, the Charles-de-Gaulle-Etoile station is closed this Thursday under orders from the prefecture. Trains will bypass the station, and passengers are advised to use nearby stops instead. This affects lines 1, 2, and 6 of the Paris metro, as well as the RER A. As of now, there are no other station closures or transport disruptions related to this demonstration on the Paris public transit network.

Additional stops serve the surrounding area, including George V station on Line 1 along Champs-Elysées Avenue, Kléber station on the eponymous avenue (Line 6), and Ternes station near Wagram Avenue. For now, it remains unclear when Charles de Gaulle – Étoile station will be accessible again.
