Asnières–Clichy: The Seine within walking and cycling distance soon! By late 2027 or early 2028, a new pedestrian and bike bridge will connect the Quai du Docteur Dervaux in Asnières-sur-Seine with the Quai de Clichy in Clichy-la-Garenne. This long-awaited project, previously held back by legal, technical, and financial hurdles, is now moving forward. Led by the Hauts-de-Seine department (Hauts-de-Seine (92)), along with the two municipalities, it forms part of the 2022-2025 Bike Plan aimed at promoting seamless, eco-friendly mobility in the area.
Stretching 200 meters long and 6 meters wide, this suspension bridge will run parallel to the Asnières Bridge. Its sleek, minimalist design preserves the existing architecture: only two pylons on the lower riverbanks hint at its presence. Two separate lanes—one for pedestrians and people with reduced mobility, the other for cyclists—will be divided by benches, creating a floating balcony over the Seine—ideal for catching your breath between pedal pushes. Stairs and accessible ramps will provide direct, convenient access to the riverbanks.
In terms of routes, the bridge will connect to the city center, the train station, the RD7 road, and the Blue Promenade on the Asnières side. Meanwhile, in Clichy, a two-way bike lane will lead all the way to Levallois-Perret and Paris.
The total budget for the project amounts to €11.3 million excluding taxes, plus an additional €2.5 million for infrastructure improvements. Both the Department and the Île-de-France Region are sharing the costs equally. Construction is set to begin in mid-2026, with prefabrication in the factory and installation by crane scheduled from April to July 2027. After an 18-month construction period, crossing the Seine will finally be as easy as strolling or cycling across...
