Calling all bargain hunters! Nuit des Musées is back for another edition on Saturday, May 18, 2024. In Paris and throughout theÎle-de-France region, a fabulous program of exceptional nocturnes, free visits and unusual events awaits you in museums, monuments, châteaux and other cultural venues. An unmissable event that promises to be a great time to be had, with friends, family, as a couple or on your own.
Why not take advantage of this year's event to explore the capital's most secret museums? This would be the perfect opportunity to discover the Musée du Service de Santé des Armées, nestled in the heart of Paris' Val-de-Grâce. This former 17th-century abbey became a military hospital, and today still houses the central library of the armed forces health service, the Val-de-Grâce school, as well as the museum. The museum houses a collection focusing on the creation and missions of the armed forces health service, uniforms, hygiene and prevention.
The Armed Forces Medical Corps Museum takes part in the next European Museum Night
On Saturday May 18, from 7pm to midnight, visitors can enjoy a nocturnal tour of the Armed Forces Medical Corps Museum and the Val-de-Grâce Abbey. As every year on European Museum Night, the museum is open to visitors free of charge. For this event, the cloister garden will be open and illuminated. Lecturers will be on hand at set times throughout the visit to talk about the history of the Armed Forces Medical Corps, the museum's collections and the architecture of the Val-de-Grâce abbey and church.
