Every year, the Night of Museums invites culture enthusiasts to enjoy a program packed with exceptional nocturnal openings, free tips, and unique activities held inside museums, historic monuments, châteaux, and other cultural landmarks. This year, the event is scheduled for Saturday, May 18, 2024. As you might expect, Paris and the Île-de-France region will be hosting the festivities! This new edition promises a wealth of exciting discoveries that can be enjoyed with family, among friends, as a couple, or even solo.
Just outside Paris, a historic castle is preparing to reveal itself to you in a whole new light. The Château de Vincennes, located at the eastern end of Metro Line 1, is a true treasure of Île-de-France’s heritage. From the 16th to the 19th century, the Château de Vincennes served as a prison, and among its most famous inmates were the Marquis de Sade, Mirabeau, and Fouquet. Even today, the Château de Vincennes houses the Historical Service of La Défense. Visitors can explore the King's apartments, the Sainte-Chapelle, and the upper sections of the Keep.
