The 2026 Museum Night program at Salle Saint-Antoine in Étampes (Essonne)

  • La Mosaïque gallo-romaine de Souzy-la-Briche

    Depuis 1912, le Musée d’Étampes conserve le dernier fragment de mosaïque antique découvert par le Comte de Saint-Périer sur ses terres de Souzy-la-Briche, au lieu-dit de la Cave-Sarrazine. Vestiges d’une ancienne villae gallo-romaine, l’ensemble est fouillé dès 1865, puis en 1882, par le grand-père du comte pour en révéler un ensemble exceptionnel de mosaïque géométrique à décor polychrome datant du IVe siècle. Un témoignage archéologique unique en Ile-de-France intimement lié à l’histoire familiale des Saint-Périer, du site archéologique au Musée, en passant par le château de Morigny.
