The National Assembly opens its doors to music lovers for the weekend of Saturday, June 20, and Sunday, June 21, 2026, to mark the launch of the new Music Day. Visitors will have the chance to tour Hôtel de Lassay, the President’s official residence, and Palais Bourbon, the Assembly’s seat, with live musical performances along the route. To join in, be sure to register (free of charge) before June 16.

Did you miss it? It’s back! The Fête de la musique is poised to sweep across Paris and Île-de-France on Sunday, June 21, 2026, delivering another edition as joyful as the ones before. For the occasion, the Assemblée nationale is not giving us one day, but two via a weekend portes ouvertes.

For more than 40 years now, this popular and festive event has been putting a smile on our faces every June 21, the summer solstice, thanks to its countless free concerts. Activities to discover on the street, of course, but also in the parks, squares and gardens, cultural centers, museums, bars, cafés and restaurants, not to mention the institutions, among which the National Assembly!

Nestled on rue de l’Université, the National Assembly forms, together with the Senate, the renowned Parliament of the Fifth Republic, and continues to fascinate the French people. In fact, this seat of power occasionally opens its doors to the public to dive into the history of this iconic place.

Located between the Place de la Concorde and the Musée d'Orsay, the National Assembly offers visitors a glimpse of its architectural jewels during these tours: Hôtel de Lassay, seat of the Presidency, Palais Bourbon with its iconic hemicycle, and the restored library.

For this 2026 Music Day, the National Assembly is opening its doors to the public, exceptionally. Join us on Saturday, June 20 and Sunday, June 21, 2026 to discover this institution while enjoying live music. A visit to the National Assembly during the Fête de la Musique in Paris blends institutional exploration, cultural heritage, and vibrant music in a unique setting. Note that this event is free of charge, but reservation is required. So remember to register before Tuesday, June 16 at 5 p.m.
