Every June 21, it's time to get together with family and friends for the Fête de la Musique, the longest day of the year, marked by the summer solstice. In Paris, many groups perform in the streets, public squares, cafés and gardens, and musicians give their all to celebrate music in a convivial way!
For a whole day, music of all kinds (rock, rap, electro, classical, blues, jazz, reggae, French variety...) can be heard everywhere, not only in the streets, but also in bars and restaurants, parks and gardens, institutions, museums, churches... turning Paris and the major cities in its region into a veritable open-air musical festival, accessible to all!
An opportunity to discover new talent, but also to enjoy the presence of well-known and recognized artists in certain venues. While there's no shortage of events on offer in the capital, there's also a fine program on offer at third-party venues in Paris and the Ile-de-France region, such as the REcyclerie, near Porte de Clignancourt in the 18th arrondissement. Formerly a station on the Petite Ceinture railway line, this third-party space was renovated in 2014, and offers a varied program to raise awareness of eco-responsibility all year round.
MOONSHINE returns for a second time to the iconic eco-cultural hub in Paris, the REcyclerie — with its greened rails, bare-bones lighting, and DIY energy — to install its interstellar dancefloor. For one night, from 6pm to midnight, the DJs and artists from the MOONSHINE collective will curate an open-air, music-forward, sensory celebration, where music, visuals, socially conscious food, solar-powered cocktails, and heady vibes fuse together.
The program features Afro-electronic beats, kuduro, baile funk, futuristic house, and diasporic rhythms with Pierre Kwenders (Montreal, QC), Boutcha BWA, Vanyfox (Lisbon, Portugal), Mel V, IMA, and Negoo. Limited capacity, first-come, first-served.
