The Fête de la Musique was born in 1982. Under the impetus of Jack Lang, then Minister of Culture, Maurice Fleuret and Christian Dupavillon, architect-scenographer and member of the Cabinet, the very first Fête de la Musique was launched in France on June 21, 1982.
