This year again, Noisy-le-Grand is celebrating music and invites you to join in on Sunday, June 21, 2026, across its neighborhoods to experience a rich and eclectic program. The menu? 8 stages and 8 distinct vibes, with the band GOLD closing in front of the Town Hall.

Great news for the numerous fans of the Music Day! The legendary, popular, and festive celebration returns on June 21 with yet another slew of free concerts.

To recall, the Music Day was created in 1982 at the initiative of the Ministry of Culture. That year, the Ministry’s Studies and Research Service conducted a major survey on French cultural practices. It revealed that five million people, including one in two young people, play a musical instrument. From there, Jack Lang, Christian Dupavillon, architect-scenographer, member of his Cabinet, and Maurice Fleuret imagined a large, people-centered event designed to give all musicians a platform to express themselves and gain visibility. The very first Music Day was launched on June 21, 1982, the symbolic midsummer day.

This year, Music Day returns across much of France on Sunday, June 21, 2026, with a rich and diverse program. In Paris and throughout Île-de-France, concerts are set to be plentiful, including in Noisy-le-Grand. The Île-de-France municipality of Seine-Saint-Denis again takes part in Music Day.

So, after welcoming Patricia Kaas, Cali, Nolwenn Leroy, Bénabar, Ben L’Oncle Soul, ZAZ, Kassav', Salif Keita, Chico & The Gypsies, Julien Clerc, La Compagnie Créole, and not forgetting The Rabeats, Véronique Sanson, and Michel Fugain, who gets the honor of ringing in this new Music Day at Noisy-le-Grand? Well, the Île-de-France town is gearing up for a fantastic day of music to discover across its neighborhoods. In total, eight stages and eight distinct atmospheres await. As a grand finale, don’t miss the free closing concert by GOLD on the Place de la Libération. It’ll be a chance to belt out old favorites like “Plus Près des Étoiles,” “Capitaine Abandonné,” “Ville de Lumière,” “Laissez-Nous Chanter,” “Calicoba,” and “Rio de Janvier.”
