A wonderful musical moment awaits you under the Louvre Pyramid in Paris, just a few days before the new Fête de la Musique. Join us on Sunday June 16, 2024 from 10pm for a free concert by the Orchestre de Paris and its musical director Klaus Mäkelä. Admission is free, but reservations are required.

Do you like to party? Do you love music? Don't miss the return of the Fête de la Musique on June 21! Every year, this popular and festive event is an opportunity for many musicians to bring live music to life in a wide variety of venues: from the streets to institutions, museums, bars and restaurants, churches and cultural centers...

This year, the Fête de la Musique celebrates its 42nd edition. The first Fête de la Musique was launched in 1982 on the initiative of the French Ministry of Culture. That year, the Ministry of Culture's studies and research department conducted a major survey of French cultural practices. It revealed that five million people, including one young person in two, play a musical instrument. So Jack Lang, architect and scenographer Christian Dupavillon, a member of his Cabinet, and Maurice Fleuret came up with the idea of a major popular event to enable all musicians to express themselves and make themselves known. The very first Fête de la Musique was launched on June 21 1982, the symbolic day of the summer solstice.

To experience a classic and original Fête de la Musique 2024, meet under the Louvre Pyramid in Paris. This year, the sublime Parisian monument has decided to celebrate the Fête de la Musique a few days early, on Sunday June 16, 2024.

The Orchestre de Paris and its musical director Klaus Mäkelä, now accustomed to performing under the Pyramid of the legendary monument and under the direction of the greatest conductors, will give an exclusive, free symphonic concert on June 16 at 10 pm, just a few days before the new Fête de la Musique. Together, they will pay tribute to the work of composer Gustav Mahler. As last year, admission is free, but reservations are required, and will be available shortly on the Louvre's official website.
