Classical music invites itself to theEglise Saint-Roch, in Paris's 1st arrondissement, for the new Fête de la Musique. Every year, this popular, festive and free event is an opportunity for many musicians, amateurs and professionals alike, to bring out their instruments and make live music resound in the street, as well as in bars, restaurants, concert halls, museums and other unusual places.
On Sunday, June 21, 2026, from 9:30 p.m., the Municipal Police Band will fill the Eglise Saint-Roch with music for an exceptional and free concert.
The Baroque Ensemble of the Musique des gardiens de la paix will present, on the occasion of cette fête de la musique 2026, an original concert program that is sure to move you.
Created in 1929 by the Préfecture de Police, the Musique des gardiens de la paix is a unique musical group of 121 musicians, comprising a wind band and a brass band. The Musique des gardiens de la paix caters to all audiences, whether outdoors, on the many bandstands in Paris parks and gardens, or in tourist venues such as the forecourt of Notre-Dame de Paris or the Jardin du Luxembourg.
With over 200 ceremonies a year, the Musique des gardiens de la paix also takes part in all the major events in the history of the capital and the nation. For the Préfecture de Police, the highlight of the year is undoubtedly the commemoration of August 19, 1944.
