For the 25th edition of Nuit Blanche, this Saturday, June 6, 2026, the Maif Social Club invites you to an offbeat program. For this very special evening, the arts and culture venue will host several free activities open to everyone. It’s also a chance to discover the venue’s exhibition spaces from a nocturnal, different perspective.
This cultural center, created in 2017, is a true place of life and experiences that offers, throughout the year, an eclectic program committed to inclusion, solidarity, living together or sustainable development. The Maif Social Club organizes exhibitions, workshops, shows and conferences. And it's free all year round: a great deal for lovers ofcontemporary art.
Speaking ofexhibitions, the current one is also freely accessible during Nuit Blanche. So, if you haven't had a chance to see it yet, now's the time:

The Nuit Blanche is a highly anticipated Parisian event each year. It showcases contemporary creation through more than 200 artistic happenings, visible for one night in Paris and the Greater Paris area. Each year the program changes, so head out to discover the fresh highlights of this 2026 edition!
To evoke the prodigious mysteries of life’s emergence on Earth, the wondrous deep-sea creatures, astonishing tales of adventure and exile, and the fate of marine ecosystems, MAIF Social Club sails into Nuit blanche with artists, CNRS researchers and an audio-naturalist. The sea, the night is an invitation to reconnect with the vast oceanic expanse, at a moment when our relationship with it so vividly reflects the way we (dis)consider the world around us, the living, and otherness.
AT THE PROGRAM:🌊 The exhibition See the Sea🎙️ Micro-conferences: Facing the Sea
Early in the evening, join the micro-conferences Les Échappées inattendues from CNRS. Dive into the ocean, a central environment for ecosystems, populations and climate, seen through the eyes of three scientists. Biology, ecology, human sciences… a range of complementary perspectives on the various issues faced by a sea in flux.
With Sarah Samadi, CNRS ecologist researching deep-sea exploration, and Jade Nijman, PhD in visual cultures at the Institut Jean-Nicod, on representations of the ocean in the arts.🎧 Immersive sonic experience
Throughout the evening, let yourself be carried away by the sound creation of the explorer and audio-naturalist Fernand Deroussen, specially composed for Nuit Blanche. Lying before a high-definition acoustic setup, you will hear the song of the waves, seabirds, foghorns and even sounds produced by shrimp, octopuses and whales. A score normally invisible to our ears.
An evening to listen, marvel, and reconnect with the ocean through art and science.
Video, Installation, Performance, Music, Sculpture, Conference, Monumental Installation.
Nuit blanche 2026: The Sea, the Night
Exhibition – Micro-conferences – Immersive and sonic installation.
To evoke the prodigious mysteries of life's emergence on Earth, the wondrous deep-sea creatures, remarkable tales of adventure and exile, and the fate of marine ecosystems, MAIF Social Club Radio invites visual artists, CNRS researchers, and a sound ethnologist. The Sea, the Night is a invitation to reconnect with the vast oceanic expanse, at a moment when our relationship with it so vividly reflects how we (de)value the world around us, living beings, and otherness.
As part of Nuit Blanche 2026, and around its night-time exhibition Voir la mer, MAIF Social Club offers, early in the evening, micro-conferences on marine worlds by CNRS researchers, blending artistic happenings with science outreach.
ON THE PROGRAMME:
🌊 The exhibition Voir la mer
🎧 Immersive, sonic experience: Oceanophony from 7 p.m.
Throughout the evening, drift with the soundscape created by explorer and sound ethnologist Fernand Deroussen, specially composed for Nuit Blanche. Lying flat to a high-definition acoustic setup, you’ll hear the sea’s song, seabirds, fog horns, and even sounds produced by shrimp, octopus, and cetaceans— a score usually inaudible to our ears.
🎙️ Micro-conferences: Facing the Sea at 7:30 p.m.
Early in the evening, attend CNRS’s micro-conferences Les Échappées inattendues. Dive into the ocean—central to ecosystems, populations, and climate—through the perspectives of three scientists. Biology, ecology, humanities… a range of complementary approaches to the evolving challenges of a sea in flux.
With Sarah Samadi, CNRS ecologist exploring the deep sea; Chris Bowler, biologist and director of the plant and algae genomics laboratory; and Jade Nijman, PhD in Visual Cultures at the Institut Jean-Nicod, on representations of the ocean in the arts.
A night to listen, marvel, and re-knit our connection to the ocean through art and science.
Audionaturalist Fernand Deroussen has assembled a sound library of 50,000 animal recordings and a vast array of atmospheres and soundscapes. This archive, continually expanding, is deposited with the Muséum National d’Histoire Naturelle in Paris.
In partnership with CNRS, Bloom, COAL.
