ThePitié Salpêtrière hospital is a place rich in history, located in the 13th arrondissement of Paris. La Salpêtrière was the first establishment of the Paris General Hospital. It wasn't until 1911, however, that the Pitié Salpêtrière came into being, when the Pitié hospital was rebuilt near its counterpart. The two medical centers merged in 1964 to form a single establishment.
Science and history blend together within its walls... Accompanied by a touch ofart. That's right: on Saturday June 7, 2025, the hospital will surprise us by becoming an art center. Contemporary artists take up residence in the Parisian institution, to present their universe and their original creations, on the occasion of the new edition of the Nuit Blanche.
This cultural event is back in Paris for its 24th edition, which promises to be a real treat.
