From the end of July - and from the opening ceremony of this global event - the Olympic and Paralympic Games invite themselves to the capital until September 8, 2024. Then, Paris will be punctuated by the various sporting events, ranging from swimming toathletics, water polo, cycling, gymnastics... Hosted at Olympic venues located throughout the Île-de-France region: from Paris to Yvelines, via Hauts-de-Seine and Seine-Saint-Denis.
The Seine-et-Marne département boasts a unique Olympic site in Vaires-sur-Marne.
Open to the public since 2019, the Vaires-sur-Marne nautical stadium is located on theVaires-Torcy leisure island and comprises three different elements: the lake, the whitewater stadium and the plateau vif. On site, there are several rowing and canoeing courses, particularly popular with athletes from the French rowing and canoeing federations.
For the Olympic Games, the nautical stadium will host rowing and canoeing events, while for the Paralympic Games, para-rowing and para-canoeing are expected.
