Every year, the Oscars organized by theAcademy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences are an opportunity to celebrate excellence in the seventh art. And once again, the nominations for this 97ᵉ edition reflect the diversity and creativity that have marked the year's cinematic landscape. With films such as Dune, Part II, Un Parfait Inconnu and Wicked, as well as talents such as Timothée Chalamet, Cynthia Erivo and Jacques Audiard, the competition promises to be fierce.

Among the ten feature films in the running for the title of Best Film, Brady Corbet's The Brutalist and Jacques Audiard's Emilia Pérez are the favorites, along with the audacious Anora and Nickel Boys, the sequel to Dune and the musical adaptation of Wicked. And Jacques Audiard, a major figure in French cinema, is looking forward to flying the flag for France with Emilia Pérez!

The categories dedicated to actors and actresses are equally impressive: Adrien Brody(The Brutalist), Ralph Fiennes(Conclave) and Sebastian Stan(The Apprentice) in the men's category, while in the women's category, Mikey Madison(Anora), Demi Moore(The Substance) and Karla Sofía Gascón(Emilia Pérez) are in the running for the awards.

In terms of international films, I'm Still Here from Brazil and Emilia Pérez from France stand out, as do Les Graines du figuier sauvage from Iran and the innovative Flow, le chat qui n'avait plus peur de l'eau from Latvia, which is also among the contenders for best animated film.

The technical categories are not outdone, with Dune Part II establishing itself as a visual effects behemoth, while Nosferatu shines with its artistic direction and costumes. On the musical front, Emilia Pérez impresses with a soundtrack by Clément Ducol and Camille, and Wicked scores with contributions from John Powell and Stephen Schwartz.

From blockbusters to more intimate works, the2025 edition of the Oscars promises to be rich in discoveries, both national and international. While we wait to follow the ceremony, which takes place on the night of Sunday March 2 to Monday March 3, 2025 (from 1 a.m. French time), discover the nominations in all categories!
