That's all it took to sendHarry Potter fans into a panic... Months after Warner Bros. announced its intention to relaunch the magical saga, increasingly credible rumors point to a series in development at the studio and at HBO Max. According to Bloomberg, each season of the series would adapt a part of the literary saga. If the series materializes, it will offer fans a more faithful adaptation of J.K. Rowling's novels, with more detail and depth than the films.
A series officially announced by HBO Max on April 12, 2023 on Twitter :

And as good news never comes alone, the series is set to arrive in 2026, according to an announcement by entertainment conglomerate Warner Bros. Discovery on February 23, 2024."We've never hidden our enthusiasm around Harry Potter," David Zaslav, CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery, at a quarterly meeting.
J.K. Rowling is announced as being involved in the project as a guarantor of fidelity to her works, without however being a creator or screenwriter. The series will be broadcast on HBO Max, the platform developed by Warner Bros. Discovery. This project is in line with Warner Bros. new strategy, which aims to prioritize quality over quantity by investing in successful franchises. The original actors are not expected to be involved, allowing Warner Bros. to develop other projects with a new cast.
The long-awaited Marauders project has not yet been confirmed, but the official announcement of the Harry Potter series could be made soon. This new adaptation would cover important elements of the books that were omitted or glossed over in the films, offering fans an even more immersive experience in the wizarding universe. Characters such as the striking spirit Peeves, the house elf Winky and Ludo Verpey could also feature.
A reboot that would not be the only project revolving around the franchise. And with good reason: Pierre Branco, Managing Director of Warner Bros Discovery in France, told Franceinfo on April 3 that he had"plans to develop programs around the Harry Potter franchise". We can't wait!
