Making wigs is truly an art form—so much so that it's considered a specialized craft. The Peruke workshop invites you to explore this unique métier on April 11 and 12, 2026, during the European Heritage Days dedicated to traditional crafts.

Costumes, make-up, sets: to give birth to a film, many artistic trades are mobilized. There are also craftspeople who we don't often think of, but who are just as essential to the success of these films: wigmakers. In film, music videos, fashion and haute couture, wigmakers are in constant demand.

To explore this distinctive art form, Atelier Peruke is welcoming visitors and inviting them to discover its creations during the weekend of April 11–12, 2026. In this presentation, the artisans share insights into their unique craftsmanship, which is highly regarded and widely used by leading figures in the film and performing arts. Their wigs can be seen in films like Luc Besson's Valérian, the Netflix series Lupin, and Xavier Giannoli’s Lost Illusions.

This unusual event is part of the 20th edition of the European Week of Craftsmanship. Each year, these skilled artisans, known for their exceptional expertise, invite the public to explore their craft and showcase their creations. The event highlights this unique branch of heritage and craftsmanship, from precise measurements to detailed, meticulous installation work.

From April 7 to 12, hundreds of events will take place across Paris and throughout Île-de-France: explore French craftsmanship and indulge your passions with these unique happenings!
