Hate to Love: Nickelback: the documentary that looks back on the career of the Canadian rock band

Nickelback hits the big screen with the worldwide theatrical release of the documentary "Hate to Love: Nickelback". Opening in cinemas on Wednesday March 27, 2024, the film looks back at the Canadian rock band's rollercoaster career, marked by the global hit "How You Remind Me".

If I tell you " Never made it as a wise man ", you go on to sing " I couldn't cut it as a poor man stealing "... This song, entitled"How You Remind Me" and released in 2001, undoubtedly took the world by storm, helping Nickelback to make a name for themselves.

Formed in the Canadian province of Alberta in 1995, Nickelback has gone through many ups and downs, including an early wave of negative online reviews. Now, their nearly 30-year career is chronicled in a documentary entitled " Hate to Love: Nickelback ". Directed by Leigh Brooks, the feature-length film paints an intimate portrait of this Canadian rock band, which now boasts 11 albums to its credit.

It's an opportunity to delve back into the early history of this band formed around singer Chad Kroeger, guitarist Ryan Peake and bassist Mike Kroeger. The documentary " Hate to Love: Nickelback " also retraces their " Rockstar " beginnings following the release of the hit single"How You Remind Me" in 2001, and the critical acclaim that followed. The members of Nickelback reveal the personal impact of online hate. They also take the opportunity to reflect on the loyalty of their fans and their decision to make a comeback after a 5-year hiatus.


The film " Hate to Love: Nickelback " can be seen in cinemas around the world for two days only, on March 27 and 30, 2024. In Paris, a screening has been announced at the Grand Rex on Wednesday March 27 at 9pm(book here). For those unable to attend, a catch-up screening is scheduled at the Club de l'Étoile on Monday April 1, 2024 at 5pm(book here).
