The prizes for the Cannes Film Festival 2026 have been announced one after another. Semaine de la Critique, Quinzaine des Cinéastes, Palm Dog, palmarès de la Cinef... The moment has now come for the Prix Ecoprod to be unveiled. Created by the association Ecoprod in 2022, this prize honors long-form films produced in the most environmentally responsible way possible.
The jury for the 5th edition of the Ecoprod Award was chaired by Aure Atika (actress and writer) and included Vincent Munier (photographer and filmmaker), Philip Boeffard (producer and co-founder of Nord-Ouest Films), Mamadou Dembele (founder of the digital and positive media Impact Story), Gwladys Bouillon-Pacheco (eco-production coordinator and co-president of the ACCEPTE association), Clémentine Buren (producer), Jean-Philippe Lefevre (Director of Engagement at WWF France), and Muriel Signouret (CSR Director of the SNCF Group).
In light of the quality of the 22 films in competition for the prize, the jury decided to award two distinctions:
"Soudain" by Ryusuke Hamaguchi in Official Competition at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival.

"What struck me about the films that are most environmentally engaged is that you can also feel a distinct human warmth on the set. It’s as if ecological awareness awakens a sense of collective purpose. Eco-production means rethinking how we make cinema without sacrificing desire, freedom, or artistic ambition. A shoot is already a small society. When it becomes more responsible, it often grows more humanly elegant as well." said the jury president, Aure Atika.
