Animal Sauvage, adaptation of Joël Dicker's novel Un animal sauvage, is slated for Prime Video in 2027. This French series, directed by Vincent Maël Cardona, will run as six 45-minute episodes. The platform has not yet announced a release date.
Noémie Merlant, Matthias Schoenaerts, Pauline Clément of the Comédie-Française, Pierre-Yves Cardinal and Quim Gutiérrez comprise the announced cast. The project is developed by Julien Kojfer and Sophia Périé, who co-write with Julien Gras-Payen and Antonin Martin-Hilbert. Production is led by Screenline SPV1, within Banijay.
The plot opens with a jewelry heist in Geneva, on July 22. Two weeks earlier, Sophie and Arpad Braun were living in a glass-walled house by Lake Geneva. Nearby, Karine and Greg Liégean inhabit a more modest housing development. The two couples grow closer, as fascination and obsessions increasingly take hold in their relationships.
This encounter lays bare the gaps between their lives and the secrets each guards. The story traces the events leading up to the robbery, weaving the characters' connections to the crime at the center of the case.
The series also sits within an exclusive partnership between Prime Video and Joël Dicker to adapt his catalogue. Other novels mentioned include The Enigma of Room 622 and The Baltimore Boys, with no release date announced yet for these adaptations.
