Free screening of contemporary Sicilian short films exploring identity, memory, love, and transformation, on July 1, 2026 at Cinéma Saint-André des Arts in Paris, as part of the “Insula on Tour 2026” project. Free admission.

The Italian association “Scarti”, organizer of the Magma Festival — a short-film showcase — is pleased to invite you to an evening of short films dedicated to Sicily, through stories of identity, memory, love and transformation.

The event will take place on July 1, 2026 at 8:00 PM at Cinéma Saint-André des Arts (30 Rue Saint-André des Arts, Paris), where four young Sicilian directors under 35 will present their short films to the public.

The screening will be introduced by Carla Costanza, a filmmaker from Catania who has been living and working in Paris for several years and who participated in the 2025 edition; on that occasion her documentary “Perché sei qui” (Why Are You Here) will be shown.
Admission is free, subject to available seating.

Paris serves as the second stop in « Insula on Tour 2026 », a project supported by Italy's Ministry of Culture and by SIAE (the Italian Society of Authors and Publishers) as part of the Per Chi Crea program.

Films on the program:

  • "Notes on Men" by Chiara Guastella, 2025, 12 min

A woman’s perspective prompts men to examine their daily behavior: the actions that, when performed by men, are treated as a given—so ingrained they no longer even register as choices.

  • "Hunger" by Natalie Spencer, 2023, 9 minutes

Madame Aetna is bored — and boredom can be dangerous when you’re a volcanic goddess. An older woman shares her life lessons, but it quickly becomes clear that things aren’t what they seem.

  • “Human Consortium,” Giorgio Marino, 2026, 23’

What does it mean to be human today? Twelve years of personal video archives attempt to provide shaky answers to poorly framed questions.

  • “Blindlove,” by Antonino Sidoti, 2025, 14 minutes

Valentino, a young contract killer who has always worked in the shadows, is drawn to Valentina: enigmatic, magnetic. From that moment, something inside him begins to change.
