A free screening, a full-on brass band, surprises, and the Breteuil lawns as the backdrop: the film "En fanfare" is set to headline an open-air movie night in Paris's 7th arrondissement on July 2, 2026.

Every summer, screens leave the dark cinema halls to breathe outdoors. Between screenings at the Festival Cinéma Paradiso, outdoor showings at La Villette, events hosted in several parks around Île-de-France, or screenings organized by local town halls, there are plenty of chances to watch a movie under the stars. On Thursday, July 2, 2026, the Breteuil Avenue lawns in the 7th arrondissement of Paris will transform into an open-air cinema.

The feature follows Thibaut, an internationally acclaimed conductor who, as an adult, discovers he was adopted. The revelation pushes him to meet his brother Jimmy, a school cafeteria worker in northern France and a trombonist in a local brass band. Seemingly at odds, the two discover a shared passion for music, and in uncovering his brother’s talent, Thibaut tries to repair what fate left behind, setting the stage for an unexpectedly musical connection.

A brass-band opening, a sunset movie, and Breteuil’s lawns as the backdrop: summer cinema has found its spot in the 7th arrondissement.
