The outdoor cinema festival Cinéma Paradiso Louvre returns from July 1–4, 2026 in the Cour Carrée of the Louvre. Organized by mk2 and the Louvre Museum, the event once again sits within the Louvre Summers program. Now in its sixth edition, it blends free screenings, live concerts and meet-and-greets with guest filmmakers at one of Paris’s best‑known heritage sites.
Every evening, the Cour Carrée transforms into an open-air cinema, complete with a giant screen, bars and food trucks. About 2,500 spectators are expected each night for a line-up that pairs cinema classics with contemporary titles and premiere screenings. The festival maintains its usual format, offering free entry through a public lottery that requires registration.
The 2026 program shines a spotlight on several invited directors. Wes Anderson will open the edition with a screening of The Grand Budapest Hotel in his presence. Joachim Trier will present Julie (in 12 Chapters), while Léa Mysius will accompany the pre-premiere of Night Stories, selected for competition at the Cannes Film Festival 2026. The festival’s closing night will also offer a screening of Portrait of a Lady on Fire by Céline Sciamma.
A free-invite lottery runs June 3–24, 2026 on the mk2 Festival Paradiso site. Several draws are held before the event, and extra tickets will also be released online as the festival unfolds. With a program that blends auteur cinema, concerts and heritage, Cinéma Paradiso Louvre has become one of the major free cultural highlights of Paris’s summer.
