Asterix & Obelix: Mission Cleopatra in a cine-concert at Paris's Palais des Congrès in January 2027

"It's way too quiet... I don't like that very much." This cult line should take on a whole new flavor at the Palais des Congrès in Paris. The 2 January 2027, Astérix & Obélix: Mission Cleopatra returns to the big screen in a ciné-concert symphonique created to celebrate the film's 25th anniversary. A genuine phenomenon with more than 14 million spectators since its 2002 release, Alain Chabat's comedy comes back in a restored 4K version, supervised by the director himself, who will be present for this premiere alongside several members of the film’s crew, ahead of a tour across France.

Throughout the screening, the 70 musicians of the Iconic Symphonic Orchestra perform the score live, perfectly synchronized with the on-screen images. Under the baton of Ralph Szigeti, with Guillaume Latour as concertmaster, the score composed by Philippe Chany, in collaboration with Bruno Coulais, accompanies the adventures of Numérobis, Cleopatra, Caesar, and the indomitable Gauls.

Difficult to evoke Mission Cléopâtre without thinking of its star-studded cast. Christian Clavier, Gérard Depardieu, Jamel Debbouze, Monica Bellucci, Édouard Baer, Gérard Darmon, Claude Rich, Isabelle Nanty, Chantal Lauby, and Alain Chabat bring this adaptation to life, a cult classic, propelled by dialogue that has entered the annals. The film's visual identity owes much to the costumes imagined by Philippe Guillotel, who won the César for Best Costume Design in 2003.
