Hafsia Herzi plays a single mother raising two children in Rudi Rosenberg's Quelques mots d’amour, shown in Un Certain Regard and released in cinemas on October 28, 2026.

More than a decade after Le Nouveau, Rudi Rosenberg returns to feature filmmaking with Quelques mots d’amour, a dramedy led by Hafsia Herzi and Nour Salam. Presented in Un Certain Regard at the Cannes Film Festival 2026, the movie hits cinemas on October 28, 2026.

In Sarcelles, in 1995, Erika is raising her two children on her own. Her daughter Abigaëlle remains convinced that her absent father still loves her and is determined to find him. Erika agrees to accompany her on the quest while trying to protect her, but the search gradually comes to dominate the teenager’s world and the lives of those around her.

Hafsia Herzi portrays Erika and Nour Salam plays Abigaëlle. The cast also features Paulette Chetrit, Jacques Sebban and Stephan Chargebœuf. Rudi Rosenberg serves as both director and screenwriter.

The filmmaker draws on his own family history to examine the difficulty of expressing feelings and the dynamics between brothers and sisters. The shoot also involved Sarcelles residents recruited through an open casting call, building on the work with young non-professional actors featured in Le Nouveau.

Produced by Chi-Fou-Mi Productions, Chapter 2 and TF1 Films Production, and subsequently distributed in France by Ad Vitam, Quelques mots d’amour is joining the cinema releases of October 28, 2026.
