Opus, the first feature written and directed by Mark Anthony Green, will be available on demand on Canal+ starting October 17, 2026. This A24 production pits Ayo Edebiri against John Malkovich, in a story where the comeback of a celebrity becomes a chilling ordeal for those invited to witness it.
Ariel, a young journalist, heads to the secluded estate of Alfred Moretti, a colossal music icon who has vanished from the public eye for thirty years. His comeback has drawn reporters and devoted fans, all eager to see what he’s been building.
On location, Ariel finds herself surrounded by people who idolize the singer with unwavering devotion. As her stay unfolds, she realizes the invitation serves a plan far removed from a simple musical appearance. The secluded venue and Moretti’s hold over those around her complicate any attempt to pull away.
Released in 2025, Opus also features Juliette Lewis, Murray Bartlett, and Amber Midthunder. The film uses the backdrop of an invite-only event to build a chilling tale about fame, adulation, and the power wielded over a crowd.
