Adam's Interest, the second feature from director Laura Wandel, will be available on demand on Canal+ starting October 15, 2026. With Léa Drucker and Anamaria Vartolomei, this drama unfolds in a pediatric ward, following a child whose care places a nurse at a difficult crossroads.
Adam, four, is hospitalized for malnutrition after a court ruling. Lucy, the head nurse, lets his mother stay beyond the visiting hours prescribed by the judge. But when the mother refuses to leave, Lucy must balance the child’s needs, the mother’s distress, and the rules she’s sworn to uphold.
Léa Drucker embodies this caregiver, while Anamaria Vartolomei plays Adam’s mother. Alex Descas rounds out the cast. The narrative centers on a situation where protecting a child doesn’t automatically equip you to solve every problem facing the family.
After Un monde, Laura Wandel continues her exploration of childhood and the duties of adults. L’Intérêt d’Adam opened the Critics' Week at the Cannes Film Festival 2025, ahead of its release in French cinemas on September 17, 2025.
