Relive the explosive energy of No Pain No Gain, a film between action and social satire, starring Mark Wahlberg and Dwayne Johnson.
Synopsis: In Miami, Daniel Lugo, a sports coach, would do anything to live the "American dream" and, like his wealthy clients, enjoy the best life has to offer: luxury homes, race cars and dream girls... To give himself the best chance of succeeding, he hatches a simple and (almost) perfect plan: kidnap one of his richest clients and... steal his life. He takes on two accomplices, Paul Doyle and Adrian Doorbal, who are as influential as they are ambitious. No Pain No Gain is based on the unbelievable true story of three amateur kidnappers who, in search of a better life, find themselves embroiled in a series of criminal acts that quickly degenerate... Nothing ever goes according to plan.
No Pain No Gain could be of interest to fans of spectacular action films mixed with a satire of the American dream. The film uses Michael Bay 's typical visual codes (rapid editing, aestheticization of violence) while adding a touch of dark humor inspired by real events. This film could appeal to viewers who enjoyed titles such as Very Bad Cops(The Other Guys) or Les Rois du désert(Three Kings), where absurdity meets action.
