In this animated film, the Minions have existed since the dawn of time and are forever on the hunt for a master to serve. Yet their escapades with dinosaurs, monarchs, and historical figures rarely end well. Without a boss to rally behind, the whole group tends to lose morale.
Kevin refuses to see his own people slip into boredom. Accompanied by Stuart and the young Bob, he leaves their hideout in search of a truly worthy new villain. Their journey takes them to the United States, then to London, in a bold, color-soaked take on the 1960s.
The trio soon crosses paths with Scarlet Overkill, a stylishly ruthless villainess whose ambitions know no bounds, voiced by Sandra Bullock in the original English version and Marion Cotillard in French. Her plan to seize the Crown of England drags the three Minions into a reckless spree of heists, chases, and the kind of disasters they’re famous for.
The release comes as the franchise continues to dominate screens. Released in French theaters on June 24, 2026, Des Minions et des monstres is currently playing. This third film centered on the yellow characters takes them to Hollywood, where a gang of monsters is accidentally let loose.
Minions may appeal to families who enjoy animated comedies built around visual gags and characters that are easy to identify. Appropriate for ages 6 and up, the film is mainly aimed at children already familiar with the world of Despicable Me. Its late broadcast time, at 11:05 p.m., could be less suitable for the youngest viewers.
The official trailer reunites Kevin, Stuart and Bob at the start of their journey, before they meet Scarlet Overkill and their tumultuous arrival in England.
