For several years now, we've been seeing the development of show formats combining music and cinema. And these formats are becoming increasingly numerous and diverse.
Leading the way are ciné-concerts, concerts, symphonic or otherwise, in which the music of films (one film in particular or several films united by the same theme) is played by an orchestra while the images of the film scroll past, in perfect synchronicity, on the big screen. Concerts can focus on a single film, a theme, a composer, a saga, an actor or a director. The concept is as varied as you like.
Another format that combines music and cinema is film music concerts. Here, only the music is present, not the images. These concerts sometimes pay tribute to a composer, a work or, on rare occasions, are given by the composer himself. Hans Zimmer is a regular here.
