Of course, we're thinking of the melodies composed for "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly" and "Once Upon a Time in the West" for Morricone, and the memorable tunes from "La Strada" and "The Godfather" for Rota.
In 2027, La Seine Musicale will host a one-of-a-kind symphonic concert honoring two legendary composers. Titled "Once Upon a Time... Ennio Morricone & Nino Rota", this musical event is scheduled for Saturday, January 23, 2027, promising to take audiences on a nostalgic journey through some of their most iconic works. Described as an "immersive" experience, the concert will feature video projections and stunning light displays to enhance the performance.
To immerse yourself in the enchanting world of these two film music maestros, the Seine Musicale is proud to announce a lineup of talented soloists, including Nello Salza on trumpet, Ludovico Fulci on piano, and Susanna Rigacci, a Swedish soprano of Italian descent renowned for her performances of both baroque and contemporary repertoire. If these names are unfamiliar to you, rest assured—they are pillars of film music history. Having worked closely with Ennio Morricone for over 30 years, both on stage and in the studio, they have performed more than 500 concerts worldwide under the Maestro’s baton!
In 2027, these artists will take the stage once again to perform some of the iconic pieces by Ennio Morricone and Nino Rota. This special symphonic concert has been curated by Marcello Rota, an internationally acclaimed conductor and Nino Rota's nephew.
