Terragame, the virtual hyper-reality center in Corbeil-Essonnes - DEFINITIVE CLOSING

A new kind of virtual reality center has opened in Corbeil-Essonnes in 2019! Discover Terragame, a brand-new VR experience that plunges you into an adventure beyond anything you've seen before in the field of virtual reality. A center that invites you to discover two horrific adventures offering you to confront an army of zombies, with Le Manoir des Damnés and La Route des Damnés, hyper-virtual reality experiences worthy of the Resident Evil video game series.

But what is hyper-virtual reality? Unlike conventional virtual reality centers, where you wear a headset and two controllers in each hand in a 9m2 space, hyper-virtual reality centers offer you an even more immersive experience by equipping you with a computer on your back. No more restricted space to move around... Zones are wide enough to allow you to walk freely, without the hindrance of a VR headset connected to a fixed computer via the ceiling, to get from point A to point B. A computer on your back will even disappear by June 2022, thanks to the introduction of a new technology.

But Terragame 's particularity lies elsewhere, as the center pushes the concept even further by physically representing what you find in the game as scenery (walls, doors...) to reality. So when you open a door in the real world, you also open an identical door in virtual reality. Clever! A total of three experiences are currently available:

• Le Manoir des Damnés
  This is the experience currently available in the center of southern Paris. The pitch is very simple: your mission is to enter a haunted mansion and rescue the ghost of a little girl and her brothers from the grip of a demon. To do this, you'll have to explore the premises, wander the corridors and overcome the many zombies, monsters and other spirits in the vicinity. Sensitive souls beware!

• The Road of the Damned
  A prequel to Manor of the Damned, you're in a military truck on a road full of zombies! A space that simulates the rolling of the vehicle and the jolts it makes every time it runs over the undead.

• The "Arcade VR" area
  In a 350m2 space, divided into individual areas, the curious can learn about virtual reality through a wide catalog of games, ranging from single-player to multiplayer experiences.

Note that since its opening, both experiences have been improved, both graphically and in their storylines, with a new narrator, a new story and new challenges (and a new room for the Manor). It's also worth noting that you can combine the two experiences, in a package costing 45 euros per person, for 60 minutes of play. On the arcade side, note that the games on offer are similar to those in the Steam catalog, but still feature games that other centers don't necessarily put forward, such as Spider-Man VR orOvercooked VR.

We were also able to try out the arcade area. We were tempted by Cook Out, Spider-Man VR and Pistol Whip. The first is a rather amusing game in which you prepare orders for customers in a restaurant. It's a game you'll want to try out in teams, for added spice! The second gives you the opportunity to swing from building to building, just like Spider-Man, but could make you a little nauseous, especially if you get motion sickness. The last is a well-realized rhythm shooter with a great soundtrack! Three experiences for the curious.

A Parisian center whose opening was preceded by two other establishments: the first in 2017 in Namur, Belgium, then exported to Tournai, in the Hauts de France, in 2019. An opportunity to discover virtual reality in a different way, and escape the hustle and bustle of Paris... Shall we go, folks?
