Assassin's Creed Mirage trailer at Gamescom :

We play as Basim Ibn Ishaq, the assassin we met in the franchise's last opus, Assassin's Creed Valhalla, 20 years before the events of the latter. The action takes place in Baghdad, Iraq, and promises a return to the roots in terms of gameplay. Infiltration, assassination, parkour... A return to the origins of the game, which should delight fans.

The software should also retain some of the recent features found in previous opuses, such as the eagle that lets you fly over enemy camps. Players should also meet another character, Roshan, Basim's mentor in the game. As for the rest, we'll let you find out in the trailers!

Our review of Assassin's Creed Mirage :

Playing time: 14 hours.

Assassin's Creed Mirage is a half-hearted opus, promising a return to the origins of the franchise but in the end rather timid, focusing more on the gameplay of the last opuses, which was certainly innovative, but not necessarily always adapted to this long-awaited return to the roots. A real disappointment, given how rich and refreshing the gameplay of the very first opus was.

Graphically speaking, Assassin's Creed Mirage doesn't revolutionize the genre, offering, whether in Performance or Graphics mode, fairly similar graphics to previous opuses. So it's nice, let's agree, but it's far from the Assassin's Creed Origins revolution, in our opinion... Nevertheless, the Performance mode offers an interesting dynamism, making the game particularly pleasant to play in terms of image fluidity.

As for the interface, we appreciate the change made to the choice of missions, making the experience less linear, and building a story around an investigation. A real breath of fresh air that allowed us to get into the story and embody the character.

Despite these minor drawbacks, Assassin's Creed Mirage remains an interesting and enjoyable game, and will delight fans of the genre. This new version is sure to be a hit this holiday season, and now gives us the chance to relive Bassim 's adventures in the Nordic countries. A must-see for fans of the saga!

In the meantime, if you haven't got your hands on Assassin's Creed Valhalla yet, or if you prefer the ancient Greek period, Assassin's Creed Odyssey. Get ready!
