Finally, something new in Fortnite! This season introduces a completely redesigned environment, centered around a bright, California-style seaside setting. A new map with segmented areas
Chapter 7 invites you to discover a new map, featuring several locations organized around an island territory. Among the accessible areas are Glory Boulevard, Sandy Trench, Wonkeeland, Humpy Bay, Harmonious Heights, and Confidential Canyon. As for vehicles, you can also travel by hot air balloon, wingsuit, and recovery vans are now drivable... We love it!
There are also lots of great new gameplay features: Knocked-out players will be able to do more than just crawl on all fours: they can roll, tumble, sprint on all fours, use zip lines, and access the passenger seat of a vehicle. These are all ways to avoid the inevitable end of the game. You'll also be able to find self-resuscitation devices, allowing you to get back up, provided you have enough HP to complete the resuscitation.
We also note the appearanceof rift anomalies, which occasionally modify the course of a session by generating temporary effects or the appearance of loot. Gold bars are no longer saved between games, encouraging their immediate expenditure.
The Chapter 7 Battle Pass features several characters from various universes. Players can unlock the Bride (from the movie Kill Bill), Marty McFly(from the Back to the Future saga), as well as original skins such as Miles Cross and Cat Holloway. Each one has additional content or alternative styles that can be accessed through quests spread across different game modes.
Three outfits also feature special styles: Cat Holloway, Carter Wu, and the Dark Traveler (censored reality). These variations require the completion of specific missions in Blitz Royale, Reload, or Battle Royale modes. Outside of the Battle Pass, several additional skins are expected during the season, but you'll have to wait to discover them.
Fortnite Chapter 7 also introduces many new weapons: specialized iron shotgun, double striker shotgun, Fatal assault rifle, holo assault submachine gun, vengeful sniper rifle, electric arc cannon, and the renegade's blade... All of them feature progressive recoil, smoother aiming transitions, and a reload system that saves your progress in case of interruption.
Several classic items are also making a comeback, such as the off-road buggy, shockwave grenades, sticky grenades, and various healing items available depending on the mode. Note that you can also eliminate various "bosses" (including Bill the human...) and then... play as them in the game!
