After ghosts, vampires, werewolves, magicians and mermaids... And now, fairies! It's official: winged and magical creatures are making a comeback in The Sims 4, with a brand-new expansion pack unveiled on June 12. The Sims 4 Enchanted Nature is scheduled for release on July 10, 2025 on consoles, PC and Mac.
Fans of supernatural creatures have long been waiting to play with fairies in The Sims 4. This new expansion pack introduces colorful winged creatures, a seaside world where plants and nature are king, and all-new possibilities for becoming one with nature.
In this pack, our Sims move into a new world, with architecture inspired by the coast of Ireland. The world ofInnisgreen is a seaside town with three neighborhoods: a seaside town center, a magical forest and a suburb in between. You'll be able to explore these neighborhoods up close, thanks to a new skill that lets you live completely off the land, in nature. Sims can find plants directly in the ground for food, sleep under the stars without a bed or tent, bathe in lakes and rivers...
Nature is at the heart of this pack: new plants, a system for digging in the ground to find plants and objects, gnomes and vegesim... Sims with a green thumb should have a field day. Did you say vegesim? That's right: these creatures, which had been somewhat forgotten by the developers, are also benefiting from an update, with an extended lifespan and new interactions.
Of course, the stars of this pack are not the vegeims, but the fairies! With customizable wings, skin shimmer and reflection effects, looks and clothing inspired by nature and Celtic folklore, fairies bring a new touch of magic and fantasy to your game. Like vampires and werewolves, fairies have their own skill tree. Depending on their choices and actions, fairies can become harmonious fairies... Or a chaos fairy!
Fairies feed on Sims' emotions. They can shrink to play in objects. Their powers enable them to give life to gnomes, make plants grow or change Sims' moods.
This Celtic world is full of stories to discover and unlock. Talk to local shopkeepers, or some of the mysterious inhabitants to find out about the town's past and its magical creatures...
Finally, this DLC introduces a new life system. Your Sims will have to maintain a healthy balance in order to keep their luck. Unlucky Sims fall ill more often, and develop strange symptoms that only the Apothecary can alleviate.
The Enchanted Nature pack promises a world and gameplay packed with history and secrets to discover, just as the pack did.
Our opinion:
Let's be honest: unlike many fans, I wasn't particularly hoping to see fairies in The Sims 4. Although a fan of supernatural gameplay, fairies weren't on my wish list.
So this pack was a pleasant surprise for me. Fairies are interesting beings, satisfying to create visually, and endowed with fun powers. The quest to become a fairy is quick, the tree of faculties more difficult to complete. Their interaction with the world and nature make them essential characters for those who like to play with plants and gardening.
I've also tested the Apothecary career: the tasks can be repetitive, but this gameplay offers plenty of story opportunities, and pairs well with other packs, such as Magic World.
Generally speaking, the Enchanted Nature pack fits in very well with the other DLCs in the franchise: the luck mechanism or the Life in Nature skill fit in very well with the gameplays of the other packs.
The world of Innisgreen is beautiful, but uneven. The two most natural districts are full of little corners to explore, things to do, life. In comparison, however, the downtown area feels empty. The vast majority of visible buildings are just background scenery, and there's not much to do in this district.
The Enchanted Nature pack is not a must-have: more traditional players, who don't really like the supernatural, can do without it. For me, this pack is a wonderful surprise, its charm lying in the thousands of little secrets to be discovered as the game progresses. A great addition to add magic and fun to your game!
Intriguing elements that we can't wait to explore from this summer onwards!
