Following Chappell Roan, Fortnite’s music season shifts gears... Epic Games offered details in a press release unveiled on April 15, 2026, about the new Fortnite Festival season, Season 14, which will welcome singer Laufey into the Battle Royale lineup (and her distinctive voice). The call to join comes on May 16, 2026, inviting players to explore the repertoire of this Icelandic singer‑songwriter, a finalist on Ísland Got Talent and a 2014 semifinalist on The Voice Iceland.
But Laufey isn’t the season’s only new thing... Among the updates announced by Epic Games, the introduction of a real-time singing feature compatible with any microphone on PC or console. The pro drum mode also gets an upgrade, with the option to plug in a Rock Band 4 drum set or a compatible MIDI drum kit to bring matches closer to a musical performance. Epic Games is also refining the stage experience by letting players move freely away from the microphone stand and swap positions within the improv circle mid-game. A new quick-mix interface completes the package, allowing easier editing or combining of tracks during improvised play.
The Music Pass Last Glimmers for Season 14, included for Fortnite Crew members, unlocks the Laufey outfit in a white dress right away. As you progress through the pass, you’ll gain access to several items inspired by the artist—tools, auras and the track Madwoman. The final tier unlocks a second version of the character, billed as the Laufey from the Golden Era. At the same time, the item shop will feature additional content tied to this collaboration, including the Laufey Lover Girl outfit, the back accessory Mei Mei the Bunny, as well as music tracks and emotes tied to Lover Girl and Tough Luck.
Thus, Fortnite Festival keeps doing what it’s been doing for several seasons: inviting an artist, adding a few gameplay tweaks, and rolling out a lineup of outfits and items tied to that universe. With Laufey, the game shifts to a somewhat different, calmer vibe, while preserving its usual cadence of regular musical events for players. Controllers at the ready!
