Blizzard Entertainment is preparing a new take on its MMORPG with World of Warcraft: Forever, coming to PC on November 5, 2026. This version revisits Azeroth’s original continents and offers a persistent world, separate from the modern and Classic experiences already available to World of Warcraft subscribers.
Presented at BlizzCon 2026, the project revisits several regions associated with the early years of World of Warcraft. The images showcase the environments, characters and group activities that will be part of the server launch.
The story unfolds in an alternate Azeroth timeline, set after the events of Warcraft III and before certain historical adventures in World of Warcraft. Players explore the original territories and discover additional stories.
Progression spans from level 1 to level 60. Characters can complete quests, explore regions, and take part in the MMORPG’s multiplayer activities.
Dungeons and raids play an important role in group content. Character progression is based on classes, equipment, and skills unlocked as the adventure progresses.
Access to this version is included with a World of Warcraft subscription or active game time. Optional bundles with additional items are also available.
Blizzard plans to gradually expand the activities available after the servers open, including new raids and content for players taking part in faction-versus-faction battles.
The longevity of this version will depend in particular on the pace of new additions and how its community evolves on the permanent servers.
